Be kind to yourself @Captain24 .
You have every right to feel the way you do. This is all so new and it takes time to digest. Give yourself some time and space to re-find yourself in all this.
Dwelling on the future brings anxiety. Living in the past brings depression. Live in the now, and you can have control over what you are doing. That's what they mean by living in the 'present'. This 'revelation' took me years to accept and grasp.
You mean a lot to us, and we want to take this journey with you. You are not alone.

Thank you so much @tyme
I do feel so alone right now but knowing I have you guys on here helps.
I will try to focus on the now.
I do need to give myself time to accept and adjust.
I am trying to be kind to myself, it’s hard though. But hopefully tomorrow is a new day.
Thanks you for helping through this dark and difficult journey.

That's what we are here for @Captain24 .
Did you get to speak to the psychiatrist about your changing shifts and how it MAY be impacting you? e.g. moods, sleep etc

We discussed the shift changes and how I managed them @tyme. She seemed ok with it. The only thing I didn’t ask was when to take the meds with different sleeping patterns. But the GP guided me on that.
The psychiatrist actually comes from the larger town near me so understands my job.

That is such a relief to hear that the psychiatrist understands your job @Captain24 - I think that is so important.

Feeling kind of numb today. Not happy, not sad, not depressed just a sort of nothing.
I feel unsure of where my life is heading. I know I need to just focus on the now but even the now is uneasy. So much is going through my mind but nothing is clear. It’s just rolling.

Hi @Captain24,
I know that feeling you talk about - I call it feeling `vanilla'. Not good, not bad, not anything specific.
I know people say be in the `now' but I agree with you - it can be easier said than done. It really does take some conscious effort to be in the now sometimes, particularly if you have a lot going on in your mind. One thing I like to do if I am having difficult in trying to be in the present is to go outside and walk in the grass and just watch and feel what is going on around me. I just try to really take in the present, even if it's just a few minutes. I find it can really help reset my mind.
Hope you are okay and the week ahead is good to you.
Best wishes,
FloatingFeather

Vanilla feels like the best way to describe it.
The sun shining here so I will take the dog for a walk shortly and try to take in the river and the nature around. Hopefully that can be a reset.
Hope you are having a great day
Thanks

Sounds like you have a nice plan for the day @Captain24. Hopefully your adventure outdoors can help lift your vanilla mood into a flavour you love :).
Hope you are having a great day too.
