According to my surgeon my ankle is going well @tyme . I saw the surgeon today after seeing my pdoc so it was a bit of an effort to pull myself together and turn into an ankle patient instead of MH patient.
I totally underestimated the time it would take my ankle to heal but I’m getting used to the idea of many more months of physio ahead of me.
Hot chocolate here too.

I'm of the view that neuroplasticity not only helps us learn, but develops as we learn, as does intelligence, and of all animals (and we are animals) we human beings are the best suited to learning because of our unique neuroplasticity.
As we develop our knowledge in whatever areas we choose to study our ability to think improves, our confidence improves, our memories....and when we're studying we're giving ourselves a much needed break from our problems, preoccupations, and daily grinds. I think of it as an exercise workout for the mind.
My fascination with human language has always been there,; I speak French and Spanish too. We're the only animal that can communicate in purely abstract terms and at least in part because of we're much more ablle to think in abstract terms. Not that other animals aren't very good at it, they are, but we're a step beyond.

Ooooh @Abner ! Thank you for sharing about neuroplasticity! I am such a strong believer in the power of neuroplasticity. So many 'miracles' thanks to it!
@Eve7 - it must feel strange switching from a MH patient to an ankle patient. Now it brings me to realise I have a GP to see to my MH, while other GPs for my other physical needs. How interesting! I guess I also do that because it's hard to get in to see my MH GP, while much easier to see my other GPs for physical issues (even weekends).
@Shaz51 - I'm glad other people are visiting mum too. It's good to be able to have photos with other members too with mum. Do you think mum would like a photo album while she's in hospital?
Cheers, tyme
