Yes, I hadn't realized how much teamwork, and even paperwork, is involved behind the scenes, @Appleblossom. That was brought to my attention in recent weeks when I was invited to a leader's luncheon, standing in for another. The place buzzed with responsibilities. It was very eye-opening and perhaps something to get involved with later when I am more conversant with procedures.
I know what you mean about having to dig deep into your personality. I'm doing the same. And I'm also having a few jokes along the way too. Feels good when others respond well, doesn't it? I didn't know I could be funny. New tricks for us all round.
I'm finding, more and more, that others have difficulties finding common ground and engaging in small talk too. I think it passes as we get to know each other better.
