@Captain24 Your post made complete sense to me. It is the negative self talk, the pain, the numbing, the unclear mind, the isolating from other, wanting to sleep forever.
You have just described Major Depression and many of its symptoms. I too suffer with this condition. Many of the symptoms don't seem to be logical, pain but numb, yet that's exactly what it's like.
So I hear you.

I called my MH nurse this afternoon as the darkness started earlier. So glad I did as she as she talked me down and gave me different things to try. I actually feel a little bit better tonight. The thoughts aren’t as bad.

Hey @Captain24 ! That sounds like a good step forward. They mainly deal with meds and the side effects etc. So it'll be good to brainstorm and write down any med-related questions you may have.
I know it can be a bit daunting meting a new pdoc, telling them what's happening for you (again), hoping they'll do miracles etc.
We are here for you if you need a chat.
Sometimes, once the psychiatrist finds the 'right' meds for you, the GP can monitor it under the guidance of the psychiatrist.
It's important to know what psychiatrists do, so that you understand their place in your recovery journey. It will also enable you to have clearer expectations.
Hope this makes sense and makes it easier for you. I look forward to hearing how you go with your appointment.
BTW, not working till Monday is a long time. How do you plan on filling your time?
