Are all social gatherings about drinking @ArraDreaming ? Obviously there are reasons you don't drink (I don't either), but I guess, being around people is because they like you as a person, rather than the drinking?
As for social opportunities in the last 2 years, yes, they have been very limited. It's like kids born during lockdown. You can see it's really affected them. At kids' sporting events, I spoke to a coach, and he said the kids that have recently joined are nothing like what he used to see - these ones all need their parents right next to them to even kick a ball! One of my nieces too. Born in lockdown and spent 2 years of her life in trackies. She HATES dressing up, hates dresses, hates having her hair done. And she's only just turned 2.
So yes, I hear covid has certainly affected us in a social sense.

Yeah for sure! It’s not all about that. I’m not just keen on it anymore, used to be but now might only have one or two on the odd occasion. When everyone else is having a few drinks though and you’re a bit socially stunted and looking to loosen up a little it can be tempting
both of ours have been affected by Covid in different ways! Our baby was born in Feb 2021 so most of his first year was lockdown and the older one has struggled with anxiety around leaving the house/social situations, has improved a lot but it was a real struggle for a bit there. So I definitely know what you mean. it’ll be interesting to see how the babies born in Covid are affected long term, we won’t know for a while but it’s interesting to me! @tyme

I'm interested to look into research about lockdown babies too @ArraDreaming . It will take some time as you said, but I'll keep an eye out and share anything if I see it.
My sister only said the other day that since COVID, her youngest daughter has developed very good gross motor skills in the house because the house is ALWAYS messy and she has to climb over everything and balance. Whereas other kids used to go out, go to school, go to the park. But since all being at home, what's the point of following the kids and packing when 2 mins later, it's a mess again? She said she'd rather let them play since they couldn't go out.....fair enough.
I've also seen memes about the mess in houses during lockdowns. It's so funny.

Hahaha, well we went through periods where we had inside cubbies/forts set up that took up our entire lounge room, for weeks at a time, indoor camping.
I remember once we had a fake jungle because he got a hold of all the indoor plants (fake and real) and wanted them moved into one specific area of the house to be an at home jungle. Honestly anything and everything was ok in lockdown, especially after the novelty of it wore off after about 3 days in early 2020. Man, some people didn’t mind lockdown but I hated it with every ounce of my being. I can’t even tell you how bad it is nothibg to do with my family, I just couldn’t stand it. And then the up and down of 2021 in regional Vic where we came out of lockdown for a week, back in for a week, out again, in, that was next level bad. @tyme
