Something’s not right

I can’t cope

Re: I can’t cope

I agree that on here, we can just get it out and remain safe.

My son is good to me @Captain24 . He has been a great help since his father, my hubby died.

Re: I can’t cope

I do feel safer after getting it out. It’s when I can’t get it out that’s bad.

Sorry about your husband @Eve7

Re: I can’t cope

How is your day going today @Captain24 ❤

Re: I can’t cope

Just been to the Gp and my meds have been doubled and have been referred to the MH team at the hospital. I didn’t even know we had one out here.

Every step I take keeps scaring me even more. As I’ve reach out for help it shows me more and more how much trouble I’m really in.

Feeling really scared

Re: I can’t cope

Hi @Captain24

I'm so sorry to hear that things have deteriorated for you. Will you start taking double your medication tomorrow? I really hope it helps you. It's good you've been referred to the mental health team. They will reach out to you pretty soon from my understanding (that's how it was when I worked for the hospital's community mental health team). You'll have a care team to support you which will be really good. It must be awfully scary to be feeling so bad so remember to keep reaching out here, as we are all here for you.

Sending positive wishes

Re: I can’t cope

Afternoon @Captain24,

I'm not sure we've chatted before (apologies if we have, my memory leaves a lot to be desired at times!). I'm really sorry to hear you're struggling atm, it must feel quite overwhelming to reach out for help and to have your professional support respond with steps that might feel like escalation.

One thing I wanted to say was that as scary as it can feel, and I really get that, they're there to help. One of the things I wished in my recovery journey was that I reached out for help before I did, so I really respect your courage in seeking this support.

Is there anything you might be able to do for yourself today to support yourself through these feelings? Not sure whether you enjoy reading, doing a puzzle, going for a walk...I'm thinking something that can take your mind off things even if it's just a little.

Here if you want to chat.

Re: I can’t cope

Thanks for your support @Former-Member and @hanami.

I start the increased dose today. Apparently it’s urgent that I do. Which sounds like I’m in real trouble. I know that the place I’m in is pretty dark but all this is making me realise how dark it is. It’s great that there is so much support out there and I’m proud of myself for trying to reach out before it’s to late and I’m not here anymore to be able to.

Im suppose to be asleep @Former-Member as I have my first of 3 night shifts starting tonight. I need at least 4 hrs today to get through but I’ve only been able to achieve 1.5hrs. I came home and went straight to bed to try and look after myself. But have spent most of it tossing and turning. It could be a really long night.

thanks  for listening

Hey @Captain24

I'm so glad you feel proud of yourself despite being in such a dark place. That's really wonderful. I'm proud of you too. Hope you can get through work okay 🤗

Re: I can’t cope

I hope so too @hanami. It’s going to be long, dark and -3. I was hoping to be in a less drained place when I got out of bed but that didn’t happen. I guess it’s lots of energy drinks for me tonight

Re: I can’t cope

Hey @Captain24 ,

Whatever change has been made today, it's progress. Put aside the energy drinks. Let's have a hearty hot choc together:

As for you being referred to the MH team, it's totally okay. It's okay to get support. My heart is actually excited for you. I know a lot of people say they have negative experiences with MH teams, but for me, it was the best thing ever.

Hint is, do you homework. Know what it is you want as a goal to achieve and run with that. Use the supports as stepping stones to get you there. You have already come so far. I can keep you company in the evenings, as I'm sure others can too.

Hugs,

tyme
