Share a cuppa?

Re: Share a cuppa?

No I was saying what is pea and ham soup if it isn’t what you described @tyme I know what a high tea is just never been to one 🤪

Re: Share a cuppa?

For me a dirty chai as usual, thanks @tyme.

Re: Share a cuppa?

@Abner well done re music achievements. @tyme thanks for the cuppa. @Shaz51 hey Shaz, how are you going ?

Re: Share a cuppa?

Do you do a German bow-hold or French bow-hold @tyme? My friend John does a French bow-hold as it's easier on the the shoulder, but the German one is also popular as it gives you more now control.

I also found out that a London symphony orchestra got sacked from a gig because the organisers thought the double bass players were faffing around because they were using the German bow-hold.

Re: Share a cuppa?

@tyme and no not cheerios this time was a request from my dear other half 😂 and you know what, for probably the first time in my entire life I went in and came out with exactly what i needed nothing less nothing more, yay for meds? (Maybe?)

Re: Share a cuppa?

Also did anyone make that cuppa for me 😂

Re: Share a cuppa?

And it's true @tyme that music heals by reaching people in ways medicine can't. I attended a lecture about Beethoven at a time when I was coming to terms with the fact I was furious with God and life, and found out that so was Beethoven...and he put that fury in his music. The fifth symphony is violently furious. As far as we know he wasn't violent, but I really came away from that lecture with a lot of healing and affirmation. One of the abilities of music is that can reach into people's sadness, their fear, their anger, their broken-heartedness, it can also distract when that's what you need.

A friend of mine passed away a few years ago very suddenly and unexpectedly and at his memorial service I sang Gerald Finzi's "Fear No More the Heat o' the Sun" and through doing that I was able to say goodbye to him. He had suicided, it was as though Finzi had written that song for my friend, because it said "You'll never have to grapple with hardship, oppression or cruelty again." my friend who was a proud Bundjalung man had had far too much of that.
