That's a really good question @Former-Member regarding the role of Peer Support Workers on SANE.
Currently, Peer Support Workers (PSW) are people with lived experience who can share their experiences to give hope to others.
At SANE, PSW work across different services:
1) Forums - to build connection and a sense of belonging with the community; to work with Community Guides; and to moderate the forums (ensure that every post aligns with forum guidelines, and to make relevant follow-ups if needed)
2) Peer Group Chat - Occurs weekly on Thursday evenings. This is researched, planned and facilitated by PSW and they cover a different topic each week.
3) Groups - PSWs run groups and webinars e.g. Wellbeing webinars, craft groups etc. This is part of our Guided Service for eligible participants.
4) 1:1 Peer Support - PSW provide peer support over the phone in both the Guided Service and soon Drop-in Service. The community can opt-in to speak to a counsellor or a PSW.
5) Guided Service - PSW work a Peer Navigators to support the intake of new participants into our Guided Service.
@Former-Member - this is just a super quick run-down of the different services PSW on SANE have the opportunity to work across.
For me, I work across 4 of the above services. Others may only work in one area.
Hope this helps 🙂

Lush indeed @Jadej - never heard of Italian Nougat. Does that mean when you eat it, you get hard nougat bits? Or is it like fudge and chewy?
